gradient clocks
i’ve always been in awe by the sky. Its vastness and boundless nature reminds me I am a small yet contributing speck in this universe. i have hundreds of pictures of just the sky alone. I wanted to make an array of “clocks” represented by the colors of the sky rather than numbers. by looking at the colors, my intentions are for others to see how much daylight and nighttime remains and how light travels across time zones. the project started with me taking a photo of the seattle sky in 5 min intervals to get an understanding of the sky’s gradients and transitions. my friend, alex, programmed the array of photos together for a smooth transition. Currently, the housing for the screens is being designed and produced.
